awesome Activities at Three falls Farm

Besides fishing, there is loads to do in the great outdoors on this beautiful farm. There are five hiking trails that cover many terrains and vary both in length and difficulty. The farm also boasts a wide variety of game from Black Wildebeest to Springbok, Red Hartebeest, Blesbok, Grey Rhebok, Duiker, Steenbok, Servals, Civets, Caracal, Porcupine and Black-backed Jackal. The bird life is prolific and for avid twitchers there are more than 130 species that have been recorded to date including the elusive Narina Trogon. There is also a rock pool close to the house, as well as clear natural pools at the base of the waterfalls, which make for an exhilarating dip. Separate from the trout river are two dams where there is a great picnic site, as well as a raft and best of all, a foefie slide that is brilliant fun for kids as it drops you straight into the water!

Good to know:

• All trail paths are clearly marked and numerous wild flowers can be spotted.
• The farm and the many trails are fantastic for mountain biking; for adults and children.
• Near the dam you will also find the trout hatchery as well as the bunny farmyard and the chicken enclosure.
• There are facilities overlooking the two dams which is a great place for a picnic or braaing.
• The highest point on the farm, The Platform, is an old lookout post from the Boer War and has magnificent views in all directions. An excellent spot for sundowners and star-gazing. There is a braai place on site and very conveniently – an open-air loo with a view!
• No hunting is allowed on the farm under any circumstances.
• No dogs allowed.
